Possibly, Maybe?

I am still on the fence about restarting my Pilates training. I have asked my chiropractor repeatedly (bless his heart for being patient or at least appearing to be one), when will I be able to do yoga or even Pilates. He said, he can't say for sure since my elbow is still unstable. He also added that I can try to do Sun Salutations to test if I'm strong enough. I got the impression that elbow bursitis can't be 100% cured, or maybe it will take a verrry long time to recover.

He also added that, not every sport is meant for everyone. I feel slightly discouraged when I heard that, but I'm sure he is right. Doing Ashtangasana in Universal Yoga will only aggravate my injured elbow. But, what about my Pilates' prep course? I called the Pilates Studios, about the options that I have; not to mention the money that I already paid. I know for sure that I can't ask for a refund since I already took the class, but it's a relief to know that I can pass it to my friend. At least it doesn't completely go to waste.

The owner explained that with my injured condition, they can accommodate it with modified postures that would avoid any pressures to my hands. Furthermore, she added, "For the time being it's OK to let the arms flabby, you can use your legs and stomach. Why don't you try one more class, then you can decide if you want to continue or not."

With the modified postures, I wouldn't be able practicing with my friend; since mine would be completely different from her. I never thought of it that way, since I am a complete novice in Pilates. I thought I would be required to practice with both hands, just like in yoga.

After talking on the phone with my friend, she encouraged me to take the course whenever I feel ready, no need to rush, it will only worsen my elbow. What a relief! I am sooo thankful that she has been very understanding and supportive.

I decide to take the prep course next week, by then I think my elbow will feel a lot better than now. One baby step at a time, let's see how it goes.
